Sunset over Lake

Hey y’all! Sorry I haven’t posted a lot recently, life has been CRAZZZZZZY. However, I’m working on getting better at posting.

Today, I’m going to be posting about how to take an awesome sunset over a lake photo. And stay tuned for my next post, telling you a great way to edit this kind of photo!

Ok, so first you want to find a sunset and a lake. Or just a sunset, or just a lake😉. It’s still a amazing photo either way! Second, you want to hold up a phone (turned off so the screen won’t turn on and ruin your picture) or a mirror to the bottom of your camera lens, whether it’s a phone lens or a SLR or a DSLR, it doesn’t matter. However, you do NOT want your mirror or phone to have a lip at the edge. Such as a large case lip over the screen of the phone, or a frame on the mirror. Then you just line up the reflection of your phone that is in the phone screen/mirror to where you want your picture to end and be reflected. Then take your photo! It’s even better if you can get a sun flare, especially through a tree or telephone/power lines. (Example picture below)

Well that’s all the time I have for today bust stay tuned for my next post! (And I promise you it’ll be much less time between posts from now on than it has been!)

(You can see where it starts reflecting because normally, in the closest section of water to you, there is a parking lot.😉)

  1. Great advice! Thanks! I’ve taken sunsets over a Lake before, and gotten some cool reflections, but yours is very pretty!! Thanks for the post!

  2. Wow, Meghan! The photo is absolutely gorgeous! You’re great at what you do. And thanks so much for sharing the advice with the phone. The idea is completely new to me but seems pretty genius.
